Hi Lowell. The 1.9M quake is most likely an aftershock of the 2.6M quake and it is on the Pinole fault.

As to these two quake being a precursor to a larger quake only time will tell. However I do believe that the 2.6M quake is a good indication of where the creep at the northern end of the Hayward fault is going and that we are a little bit closer to having a major quake in the Bay Area.

Everything that I have read points to the Rodgers Creek fault as the location of the next major quake. The southern end of the Hayward fault is also a good candidate for a major quake.
