Four events of Ml>=3 were located in the San Juan Bautista swarm this morning (Ml 3.9, 3.5, 3.3, 3.2). The swarm lasted for two hours and no aftershocks were recorded. Swarms in the Central California area are common, however, it is uncommon to have so many events of Ml>=3 associated within a given swarm. Following are the largest swarms to hit this region in the past 50 years. The first number represents the number of events of Ml>=3 in the swarm, the second the month, third: day and fourth: year. #M>=3MO DA YEAR 9 JAN 15 1973 8 FEB 24 1972 7 JUN 22 1954 7 APR 23 1995 5 SEP 8 1990 5 SEP 25 1982 5 SEP 23 1972 5 JUL 3 2001 5 JUN 18 1980 5 MAY 24 1959 5 DEC 13 1995 4 SEP 2 1998 4 SEP 17 1978 4 APR 13 1980 4 DEC 28 1971 4 DEC 17 1953
