Questions for Jason |
By the responses to your post, obviously you haven't been deleted or defaced. I would appreciate it if you could post your thesis. What, by the way, is the thesis? Or, is your work a statistical analysis of correlation between prediction and occurrence? I have a few questions, which may or may not be covered by your study. You do cite the fact that you have conferred with a psychology professor regarding your research. Therefore, it appears that there was some analysis of physiological or psychological factors in this research. 1. Do your findings completely discount a connection between tectonic stress, resulting electromagnetic energy (if there is such) and physiological symptoms? 2. Have you found a correlation between earthquake activity and the predictions of any other persons (besides those posting here. 3. To what range of energy frequencies is the human organism susceptible? Specifically, to what types of energies are we sensitive? Within those "types," to what frequencies are we sensitive in terms of resulting in the symptoms complained of by some people on this board? I am a practicing attorney in Encino, California. Believe me, I have a lot of reason not to post a gigantically stupid comment on the internet. However, what brought me to this board was the suspicion of a correlation between seismic activity and human sensitivity to it. I didn't even know that there was such a correlation (provable or imaginary) before coming here. I actually began to suspect the correlation because of my own EXTREME physical discomfort prior to major seismic activity. I took several major quakes before it even dawned on me that there might be a correlation. I, as you, remain skeptical of the ability to pinpoint the where and when of seismic activity on this basis. But, does this compeltely discount a correlation? Jason, if you're going to be a good scientist, you have to remeber three things: (1) there was a time that even Copernicus was persecuted, (2) the paradiegm of your study ALWAYS PRESUMES certain questions, and (3) never use the word "crap" when referring to someone else's work while trying to get your point across. I think that this board caters to people that sense something and are seeking something more in a non-scientific manner. Maybe it's more about sharing a dialogue than trying to isolate any hard data. As far as the para-normal . . . I worked a homicide case in 1997 where a psychic got involved by accident. (See L.A. Weekly cover story August 15, 1997.) She, without ANY knowledge of the case, described the perp, named him and described the site of the murder. I guess in that case she was batting a thousand!!! Please state your thesis.
