Hi Billion, I thought I'd throw in my two cents here about why we live on the West Coast. I lived in San Diego County until I was in my mid teens and then various places in the SF Bay Area and Seattle burbs for five years, so I've seen a lot of the West Coast. First I would have to say as you no doubt know variety is on the top of the list. From one area to the next within a half hours drive you can pick any kind of surroundings you like. For those who like hot weather, a short drive inland and one has it. For those who like the chill of the morning, that crisp air with an ocean scent, they can live next to the Pacific and then there are inlanders like me, who like a little of the coastal breeze, but also like it a tad bit warmer. One of the most beautiful places on the coast is the Redwood Forest, just a bit north of me. To see trees that were infants when Christ was born gives one such a sense of time. With the light coming down in streams between the trees lets you know, heaven really isn't so far away. While some will complain about LA and the density of human population, it to has something to offer. Life in the fast lane. For those who like the fast pace of life, LA is perfect. I rather like the cozy bungalows built in the time when the movie industry was just beginning. Streets lined with Palm Trees are rather a trademark of the area. And its warm as well. I used to have contact with a man who lived a few blocks from the San Diego Zoo and he would give me zoo reports on what the animals did before earthquakes arrived. It was rather interesting. He's moved on now, so I lost the connection. I have two favorite places on Earth, Colorado Springs and Seattle. Both have earthquakes, great lightning storms and scenery that is spectacular in every sense of the word. But its the constant movement of the Earth that makes it all possible. While the ground is shifting its creating new weather patterns all the time. Just like buildings do when joined together in a big city. Just think is so many thousands of years, LA will be a burb of San Francisco. I wonder what the weather will be like then. Interesting idea to ponder. When Mother Nature, our Earth Mother does her best dance ever, she creates. We who chose to live on her dance floor have to remember from time to time, we have to make modifications. Petra, Hanging Ten near the RCF and loving it.
