Lavic Lake aftershock sequence |
Hi all, While looking at the recenteqs map, it gives the appearance where most of the larger aftershocks are up in the northern part of the aftershock zone while the smaller ones are towards the southern part of the aftershock zone like they are an after thought. As I understand it, the break was southwards. At anyrate, it kind of gives the appearance that there is some sort of push going on northwards. ??? There was a section of a fault out in that area thru the Barstow area that didn't break during Landers but continued on the other side of Barstow. I believe it was thought that because of this that area was ripe for an M7. I wonder what this Lavic quake has done to that area in addition to the appearance of that northern push. ???
