Hi Dennis, We had exactly the same Mac you have now. We decided to go the PC route because Apple stuff is so darn expensive. This is the first PC we have ever owned. Ed has two high speed laptops he uses for work but of course those aren't ours.
We bought an e-Machine e-tower, 400ix. Pleased as punch with it. Ed has speeded it up and we bought a 17" monitor to go with it. The e-machine wasn't expensive and all told we spent $789 on it and the monitor. (at the NEX but in checking they are the same price off base) Also have two rebates coming back on them both for a total of $90.00.
I'm so tickled to be able to cruise around at warp speed!!
