Aftershocks

Kate, if you want to see aftershocks, there have been dozens of local (classical)
aftershocks. The IGNS (New Zealand) seismogram is on-line and you can
visit it and see the traces of all the aftershocks. The address is:
http://www.gns.cri.nz/news/earthquakes/latest_drum.html

The far-field forecast, however is not concerned with these local aftershocks
but with effects on the seismicity of the rest of the world. This has not been
done before, and appears to be yielding some intriguing results based on the
far-field aftershock forecasts that have been posted to this board in the
past several months.
