I just recently heard of the phenomenon of ear tones being a indicator of future seismic activity. I've often heard these tones, and attributed it to the old wives tale of "people talking about you". Does anyone know if there's any reliable data proving ear tones to be an indicator of future earthquakes, with tone, frequency and amplitude involved in the measurements of what where and when? Also, is there any consensus as to why the tones would occur as a result of impending activity?
