Re: The Society for the Prevention of Plate Tectonics |
Hi Canie & Don, I've got the topper on this one. I heard someone had the idea of filling the faults with foam. I could just imagine a work crew dressed in green and a huge truck and a major hose and having them lined up next to the fault and pumping away. Now on the practical side I have a little experience with something similar. I decided to fill the cracks in my backyard cement before I painted it and also to fill up the seams, so it would all be smooth and no dirt, debris or odd bits of grass would grow there. So I bought some painters caulk in a tube. It comes out like white foam and dries quiet hard. It works great. And its terribly easy to apply as its so light. So maybe there is something to this foam in the fault theory. Don you really have to be careful with that napalm, the last time you used it you blew my neighbors fence over the house. ROFL Its hard to explain to potential house buyers why your fence is on your roof. (all of this is totally untrue.) Tomorrow we are off to Parkfield. I will ask everyone to wish the earth will move under our feet while we're there. I want to hear that noise they say that sounds like a train coming through and have a first hand experience. Being it will be a new Moon tomorrow night, we are going to take it slow and easy so we don't hit any animals on the way. I'm not in the mood to see any big porkers running around in the dark. But Don says, no, no, he can see ham and bacon everywhere. Not to mention the ribs. Would you believe he has a recipe book for road kill? I'll eat a quake burger and think of all of you and wish you could be there with us.
