Re: Mount Rainier Update/New Update |
Looks like there may be more to come... CHRISTINE FALLS, Mount Rainier National Park -- A new burst of mud and debris -- the second surge in 12 hours -- has gushed down the Nisqually River and was heading for Christine Falls, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported. It was unclear whether the torrents resulted from a new glacial outburst or whether it was new debris from Tuesday night's event. A helicopter with geologists from the U.S. Geological Survey plus park and Pierce County officials, flew Wednesday by the glaciers high on the mountain's southern flank to look for melting.
