Hi All. I have been doing some poking around on the Rodgers Creek fault and have found a few things that caught my interest. In Dec. of 1981 there were four quakes that could be said to be associated with the Rodgers Creek fault as they were about 1 mile from it. All four were within a 5 mile radius of 38.260N/122.632W. This was taken from the NEIC catalog, which isn’t the best, but in this it served its purpose. The four quakes were within 2 day of each other. The largest was 3.2Ml the smallest 2.6Ml. I could find no other quakes above 2.0Ml further south of that location that could be positively identified as being associated with the Rodgers Creek fault. For those not familiar with the area this is about 2 miles NE of highway 101 and about ¼ mile SE of the Corona/Adobe Road intersection. There is a small NW/SE trending pressure ridge. It appears that the fault may be at the base of the ridge. Wasn’t able to get to it because of private property. In my area they shoot trespassers then prosecute them if they are still alive. They don’t really shoot you, but when they get done you might wish they had. I don’t know what the policy is there and I really didn’t want to find out the hard way. At any rate it appears that the quakes have gone this far south and no further. There is a lot of creep associated with the northern section of the Hayward that has to be accounted for. It just might be its going into the area north of the Bay. Take Care…Don in creepy town.
