Hi Lowell. That little 1.8Ml 12 miles NE of San Martin puts it on Coyote Creek East Fork. To the best of my knowledge there is no known fault in that area, and is east of the Calaveras fault. There is a small fault in the Mt. Hamilton Range not to far from the Lick Observatory, but this quake is located south of there. I have done some hunting in that area and I'm here to tell it is not an area you would want to get lost, or stranded in. It is hot, dry and the water that can be found there is not fit to drink.
