A light earthquake (Mn 3.4) occurred in southern Ontario today near the New York state border. This is the largest recorded event in this region (100 radius radius about the given epicenter) since early August, 2000 when a Ml 4.2 earthquake occurred in the area. This event falls within Don's predictive time window, but is larger than he expected. It is also slightly out of his 80 km radius. A good prediction for bullseye scoring. Still, not bad given the fairly low seismicity of the area at these magnitude levels and the event on July 24 which was correct in all parameters but fell outside the time window given. The parameters of today's earthquake are: 2001/07/27 13:57:28 45.95N 74.81W 18.0G 3.4MN GSC 42 KM N OF HAWKESBURY, ONT.
