Hi All,

Three years ago when I started my reseach as to why we don't have public earthquake prediction many times I found that the interest in this area was very limited. From what I observed most geo-scientists though having some interest, were not at the forefront of taking time to working hard on a life saving project.

I've still got much to learn about the inner workings of this process in so far as the day to day of life goes and I'm hoping Lowell or some others can lend this lady a hand in providing a better understanding in the why not department.

I am curious as to the lack of interest insofar as making a project that aside from Parkfield is a major focus. Is it truly funding for a prediction project that holds it back? Is it fear on the part of the scientists involved that in the end good careers may go down the water closet, or some other element I haven't mentioned?

In my heart I know in a short time, geologically speaking, many area's on our side of the Pacific Rim will no longer know quiet. Our sleeping giants will awaken and when they do, lives are going to be lost. As most of you know, this is a very serious interest of mine.

So where is the search for the prediction delivery, the cure to less loss of life going to be found? It cannot be toyed with from time to time to expect to see results, but I am totally at a loss to understand how one can expect forward movement in this regard. Your comments and insights would be greatly appreciated.
