I have 4 wheel drove through there in my corolla (don't ask) but did not see anything like that. Did however see some very impressive scarps on the San Andreas towards the north end of the Plain. I would suggest taking a gander at http://terraserver.homeadvisor.msn.com. You can home in on a given area and view satellite imagery. The link below shows what it can do. I homed in on downtown Parkfield, CA. Maybe you can find the features you are seeking that way.
