There was a Ml 4.3 earthquake near Olympia, Washington this morning. The earthquake
had the following parameters (PNSN):
ML=4.3 2001/07/22 08:13:52 47.082N 122.683W 50.2 15 km (10 mi) ENE of Olympia, WA

This is the largest aftershock of the Nisqually earthquake (Ms 6.8) of Feb. 28, 2001.
The listed epicenter is less than 10 km from the epicenter of the Nisqually earthquake.
A Ml 5.0 occurred about 70 km west of this epicenter on June 10, but cannot be
considered a classical "aftershock".

Several posts to this board referred to a possible event in this region during July 2001.
They are:

Kate #8428 - prediction was for an earthquake about 150 km west of today's event
with smaller magnitude. Prediction expired on July 13.

Petra #8314 - prediction was for an earthquake near Olympia of M 5.0+ between
July 7 and 17. This event was too small and 5 days outside the predicted window,
but did lie near Olympia.
