I can't complain too much after hearing how much Canie's insurance is! Of course housing here is much less expensive, so I would expect my rates to be lower. I feel ashamed for having complained at all actually since the add on to my regular policy for earthquake coverage is $81.
But, my risk is a lot less. The insurance agent told me that after the Evansville quake last year, that insurance companies had more people take out policies, which meant if there was a damaging earthquake they would have to pay out a lot, hence the increase in price to offset their losses. I guess it makes sense.
