Hi Petra. I kind of thought you would disagree with me, but no problem. At least there is one thing we both agree with and that is to disagree with what the person says and not with the person. The northern end of the Hayward fault is least likely to have a major quake what with the amount of creep there. It’s the southern end that’s spooky. There is almost no movement there at all. On the San Andreas it’s the section of the fault between Portola Valley and the San Francisco Peninsula that is spooky. I’ll sure be glad when Tom gets his equipment installed in your area and USGS gets their equipment in at the southern end of the RCF. Hopefully it will give us a warning of some kind.
