I think the TV similarity is "group think" on the part of some fat TV executives who want to appear to be taking safe bets...so it's a "follow the crowd" mentality (maybe). Although I have thought up scenes for a movie only to have them actually appear in a TV show or movie.
So...you may just be correct about that.

Well seeing ghosts sounds quite spooky altogether...maybe it's really just an EMF effecting your perception so you can "tune in" seemingly to something like that....

I guess to see EQ lights you have to be real close to the EQ....dunno about that idea...
