The mid-Atlantic does seem to be active right now. Recall that the events in the Central mid-Atlantic over the past week were expected as far-field triggered events after the Kermadec Islands Mw 7.3 according to earlier post from an anonymous predictor. The activity in the northern Mid-Atlantic seems to be slow this week. Since the Atlantic rotates about a Euler pole, if a rotation is occurring triggering quakes in the North, then the same rotation should trigger bigger quakes in the South Atlantic, so a relation may exist. Really hard to say on that. The timing and location was so precise with the total eclipse, however, that it is hard to escape the thought that there was a relationship of some sort between the two.
