This does seem like a rather large quake for this section of the San Andreas. I noted several small quakes in that area last week (Central California), but didn't think much about it as they are not that unusual in this slipping region. Hmmm...bears watching for impact on down the line. I remember the "late" feature of the last Parkfield quake in 2004, and often wondered if the quakes near Coalinga and Paso Robles a few years before that had influenced stress in the Central California area.
