Re: Note To Canie Regarding Board Tone (plus) Important Research Discovery – September 27, 2012 |
I do want to say, with regard to the USGS doing something to save the West Coast Cities from utter destruction - THEY HAVE - What we can do to protect our cities and ourselves is to prepare our homes and buildings - have good building codes and plans for what to do in emergencies - we have annual 'shake out' events in preparation for a disastrous earthquake with millions of participants - this is all done with the help of USGS, Cal -Tech, and more - see the link below. And there's a lot of Tsunami warning preparations as well for the entire coast. Where I saw some of the most basic evidence of this was in the Haiti quake and one here in Northern California - On Tuesday, 12 January 2010 Haiti had a 7.0 quake - entire cities devastated - death toll around 100,000 - On January 10, 2010 there was a 6.5 earthquake in Northern California - a few buildings were damaged and one person broke their hip - I'd say there's a lot of benefit to what our scientists have done for us. I am of the mind that they aren't paid enough - I shudder to think that some sports jock gets millions while our intellectual minds make a paltry few thousand if they beg for it..
