Hi Brian and Roger, I'm not really doing anything with this; is not directly what I am working on. I'm just curious/interested. I think that Brian's quake map, which I did not just double-check, showed that one or more of the recent quakes were on faults perpendicular to the Elsinore. NE-SW Cross sections of precisely-located seismicity, located a few km on either side of one of the cross faults, might or might not show that the cross faults are related to a tear in the Whittier-Elsinore. This could actually be important if no one has done this before. I'd suggest choosing a cross fault, and centering a cross secion 4 km northwest of the cross fault and another 4 km SE of the cross fault with all the A (and B?) quality quakes within 2 km either side of the cross section.
Hey, if we were doing this a month ago the 3 of us could have written an abstract for SCED and Brian could have presented it: pre-registration was at no cost, food is included, and I have a room with an extra bed for non-snorers.
