I pulled out that paper a couple of times, although I have not read it carefully. I recall that was NOT a wave, rather the solution was quasi-static, and it found deformation < 1e-10 for a boundary layer of about 30cm. The deformation also did NOT extend thousands of miles from the region with the thermal anomaly. In what sense is his observable a "wave", and where does he provide an example of a signal within orders of magnitude of what you claim?
