I had an excellent day schmoozing at the AGU meeting yesterday but today not so much today. I spent an hour this early morning putting together an itinerary, wrote it on a piece of paper, went to the meeting posters, lost the paper, went to no talks, and did not feel well so went back to hotel.
The meeting is just too big for me. This was the case 3 years ago and the reason I did not go back for 3 years. It will probably be another 3 years before I go again. There are 20,000 presentations. 5000 or less is a better size. The Gelogical Society of America national meetings are about that size, but there is not too much at these that interest me. I've enjoyed even smaller meetings. I met Canie at Pacific Section AAPG in Long Beach a decade ago.

So, I have not absorbed much science to pass on.

My special sessions are tomorrow. Turkey, Haiti, California.
