Dear Don, You know, you post so little it makes it difficult to feel like we are ever going to make any headway in understanding your point of view, what you may want or desire by way of earthquake prediction and as to whether you wish to further the objective to give people a warning so they might be with their family and friends just a little longer. If from your objective point of view, could I perhaps ask from your observations, do you believe that any kind of instrument, person or theory that you could support any of them, or a combination of them to recognize earthquake prediction might be possible? Do you support earthquake preparedness, retrofitting or other hazard mitigation principles? If so, what kind? Do you feel the participation of those of the scientific community along with we amateurs has a purposeful place on the internet? Or is everyone who has dropped in here wasting their time? What scope and direction should this board take in making futher advancements and enhance by further study and discourses that could be more useful? I would like to have your point of view as the casual visitor, do you ever read anything here that you would agree with? And if so, what would it be? (most of us are in full understanding of that which you disagree.) When man made earthquakes are being triggered, do you see anything wrong with doing so? Or would you support a project to trigger a remote earthquake fault and observe the nucleation of process of earthquakes to better learn the process by which they occur? Are there any proposals for future funding that you find worthy of supporting? May I ask what they might be. In this regard I am thrilled to find that the Rodgers Creek Fault at long last will have two fully seismic displays so I and others can learn from direct data to see if something happens before an earthquake arrives. I wonder if you are in support this project? Though I accept the fact that you do not agree that I hear ear tones in advance of earthquakes, I fully believe you have every reason to doubt this odd occurrence. Over the years, I've learned to hear people out and the more I understand their point of view and the basis for which it developed, mostly I make room for that point of view and try to take it in the educational way, so I might at least be able to communicate in a well informed way. I would seriously like you to accept this olive branch I am offering you today and ask that if you have the time, please afford me and the other posters or readers what you might add in demonstrating from your point of view what is good that happens here and what you feel is unworthy. I would like it very much if you were a regular participant here, so I and the others might get to know you and in that, I think the person I don't know, I may come to appreciate in the near future. Best Regards....Petra
