Hmmm....missed this quake by one day. We were in Mammoth, after being up to the High Sierra for three days. I think that the quake was caused by the VAST and annoying number of tourists, autos and RVs covering nearly every inch of the area. Sheesh...how DARE these people be up there when I want the beautiful solitude of all that magnificent rock all to myself!!

The good news is that Mono Lake is higher, and lovely. The bad news is that it isn't filling as quickly as was desired. LA is stills sucking the water, even in a year of 150 percent precipitation. Well worth a visit to the tufa towers as it is hoped by some that they will be covered again by a rising lake!
