And two tornado warnings in nothern Vermont yesterday. We got heavy rain and the wind was not even strong enough to blow down leaves. But, there were either a funnel cloud (rotation) or some other kind of low-hanging cloud that looked like a funnel cloud, a few km NW of us. The whole issue of whether people try and protect themselves and what they do to protect themselves is interesting. Nice interview with a woman on CNN.com, Joplin resident, who put whole family in tub with pillows. The problem is that the tub went airborne. I think they all survived, with some (mild?) injuries.
