Canie, I don't have any problem with the rules. I do occassionaly do completely off topic posts but flag them O/T. I figure these are OK as long as they are a small percentage of a person's posts (10% or so). Back a half a decade ago some people had O/T as 80% if their posts. You do a few OT posts also (cats), and I think it is helpful to get a feel who people are/keep track of them.

So, let me know if I do too many O/T; otherwise I'll do as before.

I post and read only here because it is relatively low stress. I'll miss Brian's informative posts, but I don't support him on this; to me it is not a big deal.

We need some lurkers to post more science-related posts. This page has for several years had too few posters.
