John; Statistical testing isn't even necessary. Simple visual inspection is sufficient. There are peaks before quakes, peaks after quakes, peaks without quakes and quakes without peaks, But his idea is that when someone sees a peak near his longitude he should look for precursors. He will not accept that there are no such precursors and that if there were any, his peaks would not be needed.
