Seattle is more complicated but the Columbia River would have few barriers is at all. A thousand years seems long when you consider the pressure build up in the Pacific NW. Other places, sure but the combination of few quakes to release the pressure and the offshore volcanic field seems to potentially run it up quicker. But what do I know!!!
