The earthquake this morning near Astabula, Ohio appears to have occurred in an area close to those at which events commonly occur following large earthquakes in the Kermadec Islands. This event with Ml between 3.4 and 4.0 occurred north of Tennessee the general area listed in the posted item as likely to have earthquakes in the next few days. An earthquake also occurred in the New Madrid region and in Texas in the past several days.
