Yup Brian, hang around. Why do you read his posts? Just don't read them. Roger and I and others will keep an ocassional eye out to make sure the claims do not get too irresponsible. If things that are too far out there (by anyone) cannot be challenged, then I would have to go away also.

I wish I had taped it: we had East Pacific Seafloor explorer and marine geophysicist Ken McDonald over to dinner back when I was "Chris is Suburbia" and he said something about how there was no funding anymore to study the East Pacific Rise in particular and the deep ocean in general, and that soon there would be just one researcher left with a torch or something holding onto all knowledge, probably against some flood of ignorance.
