Re: Its Working!!! February 24, 2011 |
Hi Roger, Rather than argue about details I am going to provide an overview of what is being done with the new bulletin board. I provide governments etc. with free advice regarding how they can solve or at least manage a wide variety of problems that threaten the health and lives of people around the world. My technical background etc. is good enough that I can at times provide them with a complete answers to some problem, or just fill in areas where they have gaps, or if nothing else, just get them pointed in the right direction. And over the years I have been extremely successful with some of those efforts. One of the very most important entities in that type of effort if it is going to be successful is some type of organization or perhaps an individual who actually wants to solve the problem. Unfortunately, there are no organizations or individuals that I myself know about at this time that have the interest and resources need to do that with the science of forecasting earthquakes. Ultimately, the organization involved is going to need to start evacuating cities when it is believed that an earthquake could be approaching. And that is a monumental task. You have seen all of the trouble that the U.S. has with getting cities evacuated when hurricanes are approaching. And they are a lot easier to spot than approaching earthquakes. So, What to do? There are two major approaches to solving difficult problems such as forecasting earthquakes. And one of them can be divided into two parts. 1. Get governments to do the work. I am working on that approach but don’t have anything to report at the moment other than to say that the effort is in progress. A. Make a single, significant, and somewhat independent discovery. This would be something like a single drug that was discovered that could cure a specific type of cancer. Many such discoveries have been made over the years. And they have solved a lot of problems. My own EM Signal detecting and evaluation procedures fall into that single discovery category. And I have done a lot of work to develop that methodology. Other single discoveries would be Earthquake Clouds, radon gas level measurements, ground twist and tilt measurements, etc. etc. 2B. Get things organized. When single independent discoveries are not getting the job done, then an important and logical step is to develop a picture that shows what all of the different parts of the problem are and what approaches there are that could help solve the problem. They you can try to use a methodical approach to coming up with a solution. This has generally been the approach used to cure cancer. There is no single discovery that works for every type of cancer. Instead, researchers have developed a picture that shows what the entire problem looks like and what approaches might be used to deal with individual types of cancer. So, the new bulletin board is intended in part to help bring some organization to the science of forecasting earthquakes. This is necessary because the people who should be doing this work are not getting the job done for one reason or another. They constantly claim that they are. But when they say that Earthquake Clouds for example are a myth without even studying the matter carefully then it is a sign that they are really not interested in learning how to forecast earthquakes but have some other agenda that they are pursuing. I worked with another researcher years ago to get the old QuakeNet group and bulletin board going so that this type of organizational work etc. could be done in the protected environment of a private bulletin board. And QuakeNet evolved into both of the EarthWaves bulletin boards. Unfortunately, it is too easy for heated arguments to get started in Canie’s version of the board. And arguments and criticism etc. absolutely destroy any chance of getting something productive going. So, the new bulletin board is being developed where arguments won’t be possible. With regard to people sharing their data and risking having it stolen, Most of the information on the new bulletin board would probably just be already published data etc. that has simply been organized into a form that it is both understandable and useful. Books that have attempted that are helpful. But they are usually available to only small numbers of people. An Internet Bulletin Board makes the information available to everyone. With regard to unpublished data sharing etc., there are six billion people in the world. And it is likely that there will be a least a few who are willing to share their data and not worry too much about it getting stolen. These are personal opinions.
