EQF, OK, and I'm glad you made the link to the news article about that paper. But, this was a good example for John and I to counter some of your posts that earthquake scientists are disorganized and don't believe that there can ever be short term predictions. This depends on how you define "scientists". There is likely a consensus that short term prediction is extremely difficult and we are not there yet, but those research scientists who are working on the problem are trying very hard to make progress.
