"A major problem with many existing Web sites and bulletin boards that cover those topics is that they often have some Special Interest Group slant to them. For example, they might assume or insist that earthquakes cannot be predicted. And that can limit their effectiveness.

These Web sites and bulletin boards will attempt to present information that has a positive tone to it stating that this or that, such as predicting earthquakes, is actually possible. Or, it should at least be attempted."

So you are saying that your proposed site will also have a "Special Interest Group" slant to it as well - that being that earthquakes can be predicted, as opposed to not being predictable.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that. ALL websites have some slant to them, and I don't think that you having a site slanted in that way is wrong.

I just wanted to point out the oxymoron of your statement. You seemed to imply that having a slant is a bad thing, yet you want a site that has a slant.

BTW, my honest opinion is that earthquakes may indeed be predictable, at least to some degree. I just don't feel we're there yet. There's too much unknown about the process to even understand how it works after the fact, much less predict it. Someday, I hope.
