After the Nova on earthquakes, we watched a few minutes of Superman IV where superman used his X-ray vision to cut through a mountain and use its top to plug an erupting volcano. The special effects were comparable in quality to the plate boundaries shown in Nova. It was an odd comparison: superman IV vs. Nova.
