I'm interested in what happens at the end of a fault, and what structural discontinuities can stop an earthquake rupture: bears on my work. I saw the talk by Fletcher at the SCEC meeting. Maybe when I get more caught up on work in a few months, I can start reading more scientific articles on earthquakes and chime in here.
