There was a local tsunami with this quake, which is now rated M 7.7. There were fatalities and missing people.
Note in the link on the map that they have the epicenter in the wrong location (under Sumatra rather than offshore to the SW), and more important, Padang is shown on the NE coast when it is actually on the SW coast. They had this mistake yesterday but have not changed it as of early this (Tues) morning.
