My Rhode Island rocky coast sinking beneath the waves

It's a new moon "spring" tide at our rocky coast in Rhode Island where I am staying. Since we were kids it is rather noticeable the the relative sea level is higher now. The linked article says 6 inches since 1960s (that would be 15 cm for you science types and other socialists). Or, over 10 inches since 1929.

The article says (as I learned as an undergrad from the source of the article, Prof. Jon Boothroyd)that half of this is Rhode Island sinking, the rest is global sea level rise. The sinking is related to the bulge around the edge of the ice sheet 20-15 ka collapsing.

If you look a little cross-eyed at the graph you can see that the sea level rise has accelerated in the last 20 years or so.
