The trouble with your and Amit's theories is that a trigger is of no importance until the fault is ready and if we knew that, the trigger wouldn't be needed anyway.

Additionally, we already know that the moon has only a small effect on quakes and only on certain types of faults. It's just not worth bothering with.

In any case, the proof of the theory is in the success of the prediction and that's very much lacking.
