Re: Bering Sea Earthquakes May 17, 2010 |
The earthquake data that I used had been sorted by magnitude using the Excel program. And Excel unfortunately got a little confused regarding some of the earthquake dates. A few of them got changed during the sort, or at least somewhere along the line. I am planning to use those Year Chart picture files in a science lecture on earthquake forecasting that I have been working on for quite a while. And the right dates will be used in the lecture. What those Year Chart and Archives chart peaks represent is too complex to discuss here at the moment. That information can be found in my Web site files. But it would probably require a fair amount of reading. And I don’t have time to go over it again here right now. I need to get one part of my forecasting computer program modified so that it can automatically generate those Year Chart picture files and some other important picture files. I have been having to create them manually by assembling parts of smaller charts. I was fortunately successful in fixing a problem that was resulting in those large charts losing line peak shape resolution. When that SunGP.exe sun and moon gravity data generation program finally gets converted to Perl and merged with the Etdprog.exe earthquake forecasting program I am planning to try to get the Etdprog program into shape so that it can be stored with its source code at my new Web site. I couldn’t do that in the past because of the limited download capacity of the Web sites I have been using. The program and its support files are fairly large even when zipped. If and when the Etdprog program does become available with its source code, people should be able to modify it on their own and start using it to do some fundamental earthquake forecasting and earthquake triggering process research. The program is presently fairly efficient at generating forecasting data. But it takes it too long to process research types of data.
