Unexpected absence

I'm back....again. Had an unexpected two week absence from the internet. Got moved into a new place and had fun getting internet hooked up.

Had DSL ordered before we moved, then told we can't have it. Then, when the phone tech was out hooking up the phones he said the folks next door have it. So we inquired further. Found out it was just a capacity issue and that new equipment was being installed and would be ready in a week. Two days ago we decided to double check and at first they said it was still a go, but pushing further we found out they can't get it to us until at LEAST July.

So we had to break down and go with satellite. Just got online just now after wiring up ethernet cable all over the house. (funny, my spell check is farting on 'ethernet')

Do you know that the United States ranks in the high 30th place for broadband connectivity compared to other countries? Someplace like Norway or Sweden passed a referendum stating that broadband access was a RIGHT of the people. Last I heard average residential connectivity in Japan was 12 megabit. Some go as high as 200!!!

Now I have tons of cräp to catch up on..... :(

So what did I miss? Is the world still spinning? Are the continents still drifting? Did we invade Canada yet?

Brian
