Here is what I said on my daily comments the day before the Seattle/Olympia quake: "Stress levels seem to be coming down! this feels good and of course could mean something...although I have seen not many markers. Again this could be a subduction or an offshore NorCal Oregon. With solar being so very low for so very long.....makes me wonder...although geomag has been consistent. These quakes: 01/02/24 07:40:50 47.53N 122.06W 22.7 2.2 BA 13.3 km SE of Bellevue, WA 01/02/24 11:14:22 46.76N 121.94W 3.4 2.2 BC 17.6 km SW of Mt Rainier, WA Were added late to the UofW page...They seem to be normal Q's CalNv map has 215 quakes which is down from last week and a half, but most are on major known faults which is interesting and many are near or on SA fault. And on the day of the quake at EARLY morning hours here is what I felt: "I heard it first from Stephen but then almost as quick from my daughter-in-law Eiko who works in downtown Redmond...Then my daughter called from Spokane. she is working on her Nurse Practitioner class with a live hookup to Vancouver and it went off saying an EQ was felt. PJ went outside as the area was emptied and they felt the aftershocks all the way to Spokane! Last night I had my worst night in Malo. Woke up gagging at 2AM. Had Jane awake with me. She asked if it was solar...I told her yesterdays notes indicated nothing but did allude to a subduction quake which this is on the San Juan de Fuca plate. Although Bill Steele said there would be no aftershocks, there were. Many injuries and much damage in Seattle area and at SeaTac Airport....My son was at the University of Washington at the time of the quake. I have not heard from him. CNN is doing lots of damage coverage...Bob Fryer in Beaverton Oregon felt it for 20 seconds while driving on the freeway near Portland." 05/24/2001 I knew that the gagging and stress were due to a quake. I have never felt this so strong as before St. Helens when similar happened. This indicates to me that the stronger OR nearer the quake, then the greater the symptoms...and this is for me only. Others have differing ideas and such. These are only my notes and thoughts as pertains to me! Bob
