Todd, thrust aftershocks might make more sense in 3D. But, working with aftershocks relocated by Armbruster and Seeber of the 1994 Northridge quake, it was pretty much of a mess in 3D except for some clusters with consistent slip and 3D attitude on one of the 2 nodal planes. I think Baja is simpler not just because it is strike-slip, but because of the local conditions. There is still little agreement for the Haiti quake even on which fault it was on, and how much strike-slip vs thrust. In my understanding, there were zero seismometers in the nation, and there was a lot of delay getting stations in. The French might have gotten their Ocean Bottom seismometers in before there were any land instruments. And, they were delayed in getting authorization: it is hard to get authorization when the government building were devastated. Chris
