Re: Help with Seismology/Geology Summer Road Trips for my Daughter |
There are SO many great, dramatic spots around to display the wonders of geology! My beloved Mt. Shasta is the center of a fascinating region involving volcanic rocks, faulting, the ophiolites and old strange rocks of the Klamath Mountains, etc. Yellowstone is, of course, classic. And a drive along Highway 395 east of the Sierra really demonstrates the power of faulting. Mammoth Mountain is fun to visit---especially to watch the seismographs! AND, oh yeah, the curse of some geologists is the physics and chemistry. These are tough subjects, especially for me with the mathematics involved...and I had to do 3 years of extra work with calculus, chemistry, physics....eeeek...get hives thinking about it now. Some folks have a much easier time, especially if they start young! Follow Ups: ● Re: Help with Seismology/Geology Summer Road Trips for my Daughter - Beth 14:29:33 - 4/7/2010 (76858) (0) |
