As Brian says below, we've had these before. The worst I remember was in 1978 to 1980. We are supposed to get 10 to 20 inches of rain in the mountains from LA south. I'd rather have snow than a deluge. Cleaning the culverts and battening down today. We need the rain, just not all at once.

Ohhh----on another note---I'll be watching the Salton Trough for increased seismicity---In 1979 (?) the lake level raised by 14 inches in one day. Problem is there is already an ongoing swarm there. geeze--just when you think you might have evidence for basin loading and microseisismic activity. oh well..muther nature....
