I echo Glen's concerns. I've actually looked up almost every fault in CA to see what their "reoccurance" rates are and found they are in 2 groups. Surprisingly MOST faults in CA according to USGS have intervals of over 10,000 years!! Then there are that small minority like San Andreas, Hayward, etc that are on the 300-50 year range. And then there is nothing in between! So based on this study, it appears the Compton is roughly 2-3,000 years? Yes, most likely will pass our lifetimes, but, you never know, we don't know where it is in its cycle so something worth thinking about. LOVE your info as always Chris!
