Considering the motion has been right lateral strike slip I'd think volcanic activity would not be indicated.. there is a lot of geothermal activity and such at Coso Junction - a bit south of the area - and then there is a 'red mountain' that is a cinder cone, a lot of basalt flows and a rather interesting area called Fossil Falls that is an old basalt flow - there are chips of obsidian all over the place - the indians would sit there and make their tools.. Water flowed in the falls once.. no more though. would have been a nice place to sit and chip away.. beautiful scenery..
