Hi Lowell. On 05/11/2001 Petra heard a tone that she described as very clear, loud and lasted 19 seconds. I timed it. This tone is usually the one she hears when granite is in the area of the quake. In times past this has been Markleeville. She told me then that she felt it would be around the 13th to the 15th. Those dates came and went. It was then that I noted that some past forecast she made (but never posted) that never occurred there was an increase in activity in the Mammoth Lakes area.

I have made a forecast for that under Petra’s name and mine. The date for the window to open is still two days away. It could be that this is the quake she heard, as it is my understanding that there is granite in that area. Come to think of it the area all through there may be nothing more then granite.

The tone Petra heard this morning (around 4:15AM) was a tone she has not heard before. She said she “sensed an ominous quality to it when I heard it. It reminded me of a tunnel sound in the beginning and then it became the normal electrical sound I hear for faults.” She said she thought it might be Bolinas, but really has no idea where the location is.

There is a remote chance she heard the Coso Junction quake, as the tone she heard this morning was not one she had heard before. It could be that she is becoming more sensitive to the tones. Anyway the description she gave me has been logged and if she hears it again we will wait and see what occurs and where. Take Care...Don
